Blacknor Point

Blacknor Point is a dive near Weymouth in Portland. There are a lot of wrecks near Portland and you can freedive to most of them. Near Blacknor Point you will be able to find the James Fennell, or rather, what is left of it.
The James Fennel is a steam trawler that was lost in thick fog and ran aground in 1920. The stern is complete and still attached to the bow, but it is twisted. Huge boulders among the wreck make identifying the wreck difficult. It is common to see wrasse and cuttlefish. The wreck may be hard to find without local knowledge.
This is a popular dive in the area and you can get more information from the Old Harbour Dive Centre.
The location was taken from lat-long of a submission to freedivingspots.net, as submitted by Bryn Spencer. If you have any additional info, please leave a comment. If you have photos you wish to share, send them to info@freedivewire.com.
