Grey Rocks Island, Deep cove

Grey Rocks Island at Deep Cove is a nice local dive, not too deep but prone to current. The dive can be reached from the Dollarton highway, which turns into Deep Cove Rd. Pass the Raven Pub on Deep Cove Road and turn down Strathcona Road towards the water. Go past a beach access with about three parking spots,  and just past a playground, less than a km from Deep Cove Road.Look for  small grass park on the water with a ramp you can walk down, and rock steps through the seawall. You are looking directly at Grey Rocks Island a swim of around 100 meters. Parking is beside the road, or across near a playground (the marker on the map is located exactly at the parking lot). There are no washrooms or fresh water.

The diving here is good, from 5 – 20 meters, with lots of red rock and dungeness crab to see around the little docks and on the walls of the Grey Rock islands. There are also shallow eel grass beds with lots of Nudibranch. On the opposite island is a wall which you can stand on at low tide for a breathe-up and dive down along if there is a lot of current. Otherwise you can loop around the island to get a full tour.
