Tuwanek beach freediving

Tuwanek Beach is a spot in the Sechelt Inlet of BC. From Sechelt drive north on Wharf avenue. Turn right on East porpoise road, this turns into Sechelt Inlet road. The beach is on Sechelt Inlet. If you are using a GPS you can enter the Tuwanek hotel which is right next to the beach.

There is ample life here, rock fish, nudibranch, wolf-eels, spider crab, and so on. Scuba divers commonly stick to the two little islands in front of the beach. On the back of the left island is a vertical wall that drops to about 40 m, on the back of the right island is a wall that drops to 25 m. If there is a lot of flow from the creek you can expect the surface layer to be cold and maybe a bit murky. Although Scuba divers are commonly on the two little islands, as a freediver you can also walk on the Tuwanek trail north for 150 meters and find the Lamb Islets in front of the coast. There is bound to be good diving here, although we have not reviewed it yet! Find the scuba reviews here.
